​Hoot/Wisdom Recordings is FAU’s student-run/faculty-supervised record label established in 2002 under the direction of Professor Michael Zager. The goal of the record label is to provide real-world experience for students in all facets of the Music Industry. Every semester Hoot/Wisdom Recordings seeks talented students from the FAU student body and invites them to record a commercially released single through the label. To this end, the label organizes various events in order to recruit new recording talent.

 

 Hoot/Wisdom Recordings produces and records all of its albums, EP’s and singles in its state-of-the art studios on the FAU Boca Raton campus. The mission of the label is to record and produce quality music from the diverse student population and faculty. 

 

Hoot/Wisdom Recordings has produced 32 albums to date and has earned 3 Latin Grammy nominations. Production and engineering is overseen by associate professor and assistant director of Commercial Music Alejandro Sánchez-Samper, and assistant professor Matt Baltrucki.
